- Michael Perceval Osborne Crocker, 69, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 12 at his home in Wewahitchka.
Michael was born May 19, 1945 in Montevideo, Uruguay. He spent his formative years traveling the world as the son of a diplomat. He adored his time in Paraguay, Switzerland and Mexico the most. He spoke several languages but his love languages were English and Spanish. He served in the United States Air force and was a Vietnam Veteran. He lived his life as a soldier, a musician, a vagabond, a business man, a banker, an international salesman, an entrepreneur, a world traveler and a father. He came to settle in Gulf County as an esteemed employee at Raffield Fisheries for more than thirty years.
Michael was a kind-hearted, intelligent, imaginative and hardworking man that never met a stranger. He never turned down an opportunity to help someone in need. His home always had an open door policy and once you were considered a member of the family, it was unconditional. His greatest joy was his family who he loved with every fiber of his soul.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ernest and Poupeé Crocker and one brother Eric Crocker. He is survived by his wife of 40 years Beverly (Soluri) Crocker, son Anthony, daughter Brittany and her husband; 3 grandchildren Conner, Jett and Destiny; sister Elaine and husband Dr. James Hamilton of Wilmore, K.Y.; sister DeeDee and husband Dr. Jody Hice of Monroe, G.A.; brother John & wife Crystal (Pitts) Crocker of Kinard, F.L.; nephews Mark Crocker, Hal Hamilton, John Hamilton, Michael Hamilton and James Hamilton; nieces Brenda Angel, Victoria Crocker-Byrnes, Ruth Mackey, Anna Hurley, Sara Kalbhenn and Caitlin Holliday and numerous grand and great grand nephews and nieces and cousins.
Michael was deeply loved and his absence will be profoundly felt by all who knew him. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. CT at the Glad Tidings Assembly of God in Wewahitchka on Sunday, Nov. 23. A private interment will be held at a later time for family.
